Chit chat from work!

Here I am sitting at my desk in the office and really just dozing off from time to time fighting that post-lunch snooze urge. I just asked a colleague after lunch whether the others feel the same and she reassured me when she said “Don’t worry, everyone feels tired after lunch”. There must be something to prevent this from happening! Bcos I really hate the feeling off trying to stay awake but failing to no matter how hard I try to keep my eyes open and my head from bobbing back and forth. Maybe its something I could sneakily research for at work. I have been given a task to research on organizations in South East Asia that are in the sphere of sustainable food and agriculture and yes, it is rather interesting to find out about the initiatives that companies launch to better the environment and the lives of people but not when you’ve been doing it for more than a week now :(

Ok it has been 10 minutes since I typed the last sentence cos I just dozed off again, I’m really not joking. I’m gonna snack on some Snackimals now!! They’re cookies which I’ve just discovered from the Organic Grocer just a minute walk away from my office  They are super delish and hopefully gonna keep me awake!

Anyway, it must seem really unproductive of me to be blogging whilst at work but I really have run out of resources to research for!! And I’m gonna ask for a new task soon but what’s holding me back is my mentality that if there was something else for me to do, my ‘boss’ would have already mentioned it to me, but it’s always better just taking the initiative to ask for it!

Ok there was another 20 minutes that just passed between the last sentence and now but that’s cos I have found another company in the SEA region to research on WOOHOO! Must have been the Snackimals power hahah ok I’m fully awake now and ready to do more research with new found motivation!

Thanks for tuning into real time (ish) talk with me and talk to you next time!!!

An artsy day!

The 9th of July was an artsy fartsy day!!

Watched Les Mis and really enjoyed it but not as much as I thought I would. In my opinion I just think that the story is quite long and is not too exciting. However, the singing was phenomenal!! I really got the chills listening to their beautiful voices :)

After Les Mis, Justina and I headed to Fort canning to meet Claire and Bincs to watch BUTS!!

And then after Paquita which was the last performance, Chen Peng went on stage and proposed to Li Jie!!!! Hehe I'm so happy I managed to witness a proposal!! And yes she did say yes and everyone was cheering !!

Then we tried to take some dancy photos but unfortunately did not meet with much success HAHAHAH

Now looking back at this photos I have no idea why Claire and I did this AHAH oh wells we're weird like that

I really love all the photos we took at BUTS all thanks to Binc's amazing camera!! :)))))

It's great to be back home :')

This is a rather overdue post as it's been 2 weeks since I came back! Initially the heat was honestly unbearable and I just found myself being so frustrated all the time as I was so sticky and sweaty just minutes after showering! But it's much better now because 1) I spend most of my time indoors 2) I may have gotten used to it?? Well slightly at least

I arrived at Changi Airport at 11am in the morning on the 5th of July and got picked up by Justina and Daddy!!! I really couldn't believe that I was finally back and I was just staring out the window the whole ride back home and just taking it all in :) And I also then appreciated how green Singapore was

First friend I met on the day I arrived!!! Bincs was in Bishan and she texted me if I was home and 3 hours and a nap later, there she was in my home !!! :) Love impromptu meet ups like these and especially cos I did not expect to meet friends so quickly just after I arrived ! Thank you Bincs xx

Went to Grain Traders for lunch with Justina the following day! I loved it there but the only thing I did not enjoy was the price - each bowl is $16 :( I'd recommend it but definitely not often!!

That night, my cousins and relatives all came over for dinner! Mum and Ruby cooked up amazing food as usual but the best was that we had durian for dessert which my Uncle had bought!!! I haven't had durian in forever and they were deeeeliciousss!!! I love my family so much and am really so grateful that I'm close to my cousins :') can't wait for the day we all go on holiday together w/o the parents!!

Invited Nat to the TTP gala dinner (which was the theatre company that I worked with after As) and was so nice to see her again and just chat about what's been going on the past year!

Its amazing how just after a day or two back home I feel so at home, like I've never left (ok well excluding the fact that I don't feel like I have much space at home for my things bcos the sister has taken over my space and sometimes I don't know where things are cos they've moved in the past 9 months that I was away - but it's all good in the hood). It's really true that it takes one to leave home for a long period of time to truly appreciate the one place we call home because I really can't see myself living elsewhere but Singapore in the future!!
