The week after Bhutan

Went to NTU to visit Bianca and Rgoh!! We had lunch together, painted, talked and most importantly went on tao bao and got amazed by how cheap everything was hahaha and ofc took some pics before Bincs had to go for class and I had to go for ballet!

Had lunch with Zoea the next day at Jurong Point (hooray for traveling to the end of the world 2 days in a row!! hahaha but tbh the journey is not that bad??) This little human being really has such a huge heart!! :')

My absolute fav home-made granola!! The recipe is from the Thug Kitchen and the dry ingredients just consists of oats, quinoa and nuts whilst the wet ingredients consists of maple syrup, peanut butter and vanilla extract!

This is the best cereal combination yet - Nutrigrain, the granola that I made and rice milk!!

Had dinner at Yu Shen's with JC classmates! Well really just 6 of us cos Jia Jun left earlier hahah but it was a nice catch up with them :) also went to Botanic gardens to hunt Pokemon with David, Chris and Boris after (not me cos I don't play iPhone games) and it was really quite comical seeing so many people just camping out there/walking around at 10pm at night playing the game!

Another dragonfruit nice cream bowl! See, told you I could never get bored of this

Met my gf Claire for dinner!! Was supposed to meet JX too but he mixed up the dates and couldn't turn up (he basically just didn't respond to our texts as he did not have his phone in camp and then finally replied the next afternoon apologizing for mixing up the dates hahah) but it was so nice just having quality time with Claire hehe :')

Lunch at LingZhi in Velocity w Mum and Justina after rehearsals! It's a vegetarian restaurant run by Tong Lok hence the slightly higher prices, but the food was quite good!

Summer Summer!

So Ms Ong asked Justina if I wanted to be in this piece, Summer Summer, that SBA was performing for Celebration in Dance and I initially declined because I did not think that I'd be able to commit seeing that I had my internship and wanted to meet friends too. She then said oh its ok you can just help out then, and I said sure of course, I'd love to help! Lo and behold, when I went for ballet on a Saturday, Ms Ong asked me to sit and watch the dance, and after the first run, she said ' Ok Jasmine stand here ' (as she pointed to a blank space beside Justina during the starting pose of the dance) and that's when I knew that I had no choice but to be in the dance too hahahahaha (this is Ms Ong's version of help out in the dance)

Never would I have thought that I would be given the opportunity to dance on the Esplanade Stage again and I am so grateful for this amazing opportunity!! It's my favourite theatre in Singapore to perform in and despite the many times where I felt like I was going to die just halfway through the piece and not thinking that I'd be able to perform it without feeling like my heart could not pump any more oxygen through my legs to keep me going, I did enjoy the dance! I loved the music and the choreography and though the journey was not exactly smooth because not everyone had committed an equal amount of time and effort, it was a great experience nonetheless!

MAH FAV SISTA FROM THE SAME MOTHER <3

I can't even keep count of how many times we warmed up and cooled down that 8am-8pm day but this was my favourite one where we went backstage and used those industrial trolleys/movers as a barre and class was accompanied by beautiful music that Justina and I had created on Spotify the night before (the artist was Christopher N Hobson) ! It was really my dream come true to be taking class with his music :')

Delphina! Who is crazy

Ms Ong!!! :')

Freda! Who was unexpectedly crazy hahaha

A card I made for Ms Ong!

Also happy about new friendships formed with this crazy group!

Kai Wei! and I just realized we've performed quite a lot together :)

Elaine, who's a First Artist with SDT but she was previously from SBA too and she may come to visit Edinburgh this winter which is exciting!

Fam who came to watch!

Time for me to rest my swollen knee now :'( Really hope its nothing serious and that I can get to exercise soon!!!

(also Bincs if you're reading this during your lecture, PAY ATTENTION but if not then YAY congrats on surviving your lecture!!)

Happily busy

I never did expect myself to be so busy the first summer that I'm back home - internship, ballet rehearsals and my favourite part of meeting friends and spending time with family! Despite the times where I feel so tired and frustrated and really just dread waking up at 6:50am in the morning every weekday, I am glad that I have busied myself with all these activities because I'm not sure what I'd do in the day if I didn't have an internship. I mean of course I could read, watch videos, tv series', paint and all sorts (oh maybe do my summer project which I have completely forgotten about), but I'm pretty sure I'd get bored of all that if I had to do it for more than a month! I do wish I had more time to hang out with friends and my family though :'( However, I'm still happily busy!!

Behold, the best vegan pizza I've ever had so far!!!! This was a Hawaiian one

This was BBQ chicken!
Shared these 2 amazing pizzas with Beverly and Tessa when we met up for dinner at Brownice at Upper Thomson :) We also finished the meal off with vegan ice cream where instead of dairy milk, they used brown rice milk (hence the name of the place)! I had a hazelnut and chocolate flavor and it was deeeelicous and also 1/3rd of the calories of regular ice cream!! I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for healthy ice cream and also really affordable pizza!

Met up with Kim and Natalie at Simei and then went to Kim's house to chill!! and had a mini photoshoot with Kim's dogs, Sugar and Biscuit, and they are just too cute and small and soft and squishy and I could just go on and on
Natalie was awake for probably just 20 minutes in Kim's house and then she fell asleep on the floor ahahhah so Kim and I just lay on the floor and talked about anything and everything!!

Quickly snapped some photos as Natalie and I headed to the shuttle bus to get to the mrt!

Watched the Day I Met The Prince by The Theatre Practice!! I enjoyed the show so much more than I expected (and I was already expecting that I would have enjoyed it a lot) and it was just so nice to see the 3 of them perform again! Really missed everyone's company and daily grind of going for rehearsals, making props, moving props, having meaningful conversations, having funny conversations, laughing at min bao's dancing etc. Sighhh - a part of me regrets so much for not taking up the job of working with this group :'((((

Met up with Iwen and Bernice for dinner at Cocoichibanya!! We then walked to the steps outside Wisma and sat there and chatted :) Was such a great catch up with the other 2 sg ditchers (as we call ourselves hahahah) and hopefully we'll get to visit each other in the future! I was just thinking about it the other day, and its so strange when you put numbers to it, but we've known each other for 3 years now! Seems like it's been so short yet so long all at the same time :')

10 things in July

Hello!! I've finally stopped being lazy and decided to write a post :) I just came back from Bhutan and it's so nice to be back home to familiarity and also civilization hahaha but I enjoyed the trip so much but I'll defo do another post on it

1. Dinner at Genesis with Boris! It's a vegan restaurant but we were quite disappointed with the food :( I had a bibimbap and Boris had a Bakuteh, but the dumplings we had were super good!

Had durian somewhere along Serangoon road after and it was super yummy! We were afraid we would get conned cos we looked like young kids who didn't know how to buy durian (truth) but in the end we got a box for $18 and I think thats ok??

2. At 11:58pm on my birthday, I was lying in bed ready to go to bed and then suddenly my bedroom door swung open and Kim and Natalie came in holding a cake and singing happy birthday!! I was sooooooo surprised, like literally was not expecting anything but I'm so thankful for them and so glad that they came :))))) It's been the third year in a row that they came to surprise me at home on my birthday and I'm always surprised each time!

3. My fav bfast at the moment - Dragon fruit nice cream bowl :')

4. Met up with Boris, Chris, David and Rachel for lunch at Afterglow!! It's a vegetarian/vegan friendly  place at Keong Saik street - quite pricey but the service is really good and also the vibe of the place
It was a super great catch up with them and they treated me to a late birthday lunch which was super sweet :)

5. Made whole wheat banana pancakes for bfast!!

6. Went to Bron's house on Sat for a poh piah partayyy!!! I was praying that we would have poh piah for lunch on the way there and my prayers were answered hahahahha

7. Dinner with Natascha at Afterglow(again)! Story time - we had a little miscommunication before meeting, she thought that we were having dinner at Afterglow whilst I thought we were having it at Absolute Acai. So at 6:40pm when I was frantically walking around, texting Natascha for her location and looking for Absolute Acai, she rang me to help direct me to the restaurant and I then found out that she was sitting in Afterglow, 20 minutes away from my location ( and this was after walking for 25 minutes from work to where I was ) hahahah we then decided that we should just meet at Afterglow since I knew how to get there and we finally met at around 7pm!

We shared 2 salads, the Dragpom and a Quinoa one and they were both really yummy! We chatted about such diverse topics and I just remember us laughing so much over great food, it was just such an enjoyable catch up with a great friend :')

8. Wheetabix and fruit for bfast!! I also love wheetabix and its my staple bfast in Edinburgh (ok oatmeal too but I would rank this above oatmeal)

9. Met Topo (he's in my course at uni) and his girlfriend Fefe, and Beverly for dinner at Lau Pa Sat! We had a lovely chat over yummy local food and it's so funny how the only conversation we had prior to this  meet up was 2 minutes in a kitchen at a flat party but he's such an easy person to talk to and he loves Singlish and can actually speak it well which is so funny (bcos he is from Botswana and this reminds me of the Book of Mormon which is my fav musical currently as Botswana was mentioned there hehe)

10. Another dragonfruit nice cream bowl for bfast! Would really never get bored of having this for breakfast and it just makes me think whether it's worth buying Project acai when I can technically make it myself at home
