Last Sunday, Monday and Tuesday (how exciting)

Sunday
The day started with a delicious dragon fruit nice cream bowl topped with granola, desiccated coconut flakes and blueberries!!

Then headed to Sheraton Towers for a cousin's wedding lunch

This was super cool cos no one in the family planned to wear white and all the ladies in the family turned up in white!!

Cousins

Monday

Met up with Beverly and Nicholas for lunch at Serangoon food centre! Nicholas is in my course in uni and he's Swiss/British but lived in Singapore for about 9 years (if I'm not wrong) and went to French international school here which is crazy!!

Tuesday

Met Bincs to go to the Art Science Museum!! (I was super late & I'm very very sorry :'( )

Before heading to the next exhibit, Bincs and I just laid on the bean bags for a good 30 mins where she showed me all her online shopping purchases and I casually just bought 3 items there and then hahahaha

We met the sweetest, loveliest and kindest Japanese kid !! We somehow started playing by throwing the huge balls at each other and then Bincs talked to her and asked for her name and age and she was 6! (cant remember her name :'( ) and then we left to go to the next exhibit but decided to go back to where the colourful balls were to look for the girl cos she was just too cute and when she saw us, she was so super happy and excited to see us again!! It was adorable!!! and then she took out a ziplock bag full of Japanese treats and started distributing them evenly and giving them to Bincs and I ?????!?!??! We were so shocked and really didn't know what to do!! and when we wanted to return it to her, she just kept shaking her head, making sure we kept them! So Bincs and I just sat there and watched her do some coloring and helped scan her drawing into the machine-thingy, and when she wasn't looking we quickly returned all the snacks to her mother. When we were about to leave and she'd realised that we had returned the snacks, she was so upset! Seriously, she is the kindest kid that I've ever met and its so sad that we would probably never see her again but I'm telling you, the bond between us was real. sighhhhh

Anyway, after the museum and feeling a little sad that we would never see the Japanese girl again, Bincs and I just walked around and went to Marina Square and got some bread!! Then we just talked and walked all the way to the MRT where we parted ways. All in all, it was a super great day with Bincs and I thoroughly enjoyed the museum!! I wish there was more to see though but I was already so impressed and in awe at what was already there :) and Singapore is honestly just so beautiful!! There is greenery EVERYWHERE and its just such a scenic city!

Chit chat from work!

Here I am sitting at my desk in the office and really just dozing off from time to time fighting that post-lunch snooze urge. I just asked a colleague after lunch whether the others feel the same and she reassured me when she said “Don’t worry, everyone feels tired after lunch”. There must be something to prevent this from happening! Bcos I really hate the feeling off trying to stay awake but failing to no matter how hard I try to keep my eyes open and my head from bobbing back and forth. Maybe its something I could sneakily research for at work. I have been given a task to research on organizations in South East Asia that are in the sphere of sustainable food and agriculture and yes, it is rather interesting to find out about the initiatives that companies launch to better the environment and the lives of people but not when you’ve been doing it for more than a week now :(

Ok it has been 10 minutes since I typed the last sentence cos I just dozed off again, I’m really not joking. I’m gonna snack on some Snackimals now!! They’re cookies which I’ve just discovered from the Organic Grocer just a minute walk away from my office  They are super delish and hopefully gonna keep me awake!

Anyway, it must seem really unproductive of me to be blogging whilst at work but I really have run out of resources to research for!! And I’m gonna ask for a new task soon but what’s holding me back is my mentality that if there was something else for me to do, my ‘boss’ would have already mentioned it to me, but it’s always better just taking the initiative to ask for it!

Ok there was another 20 minutes that just passed between the last sentence and now but that’s cos I have found another company in the SEA region to research on WOOHOO! Must have been the Snackimals power hahah ok I’m fully awake now and ready to do more research with new found motivation!

Thanks for tuning into real time (ish) talk with me and talk to you next time!!!

An artsy day!

The 9th of July was an artsy fartsy day!!

Watched Les Mis and really enjoyed it but not as much as I thought I would. In my opinion I just think that the story is quite long and is not too exciting. However, the singing was phenomenal!! I really got the chills listening to their beautiful voices :)

After Les Mis, Justina and I headed to Fort canning to meet Claire and Bincs to watch BUTS!!

And then after Paquita which was the last performance, Chen Peng went on stage and proposed to Li Jie!!!! Hehe I'm so happy I managed to witness a proposal!! And yes she did say yes and everyone was cheering !!

Then we tried to take some dancy photos but unfortunately did not meet with much success HAHAHAH

Now looking back at this photos I have no idea why Claire and I did this AHAH oh wells we're weird like that

I really love all the photos we took at BUTS all thanks to Binc's amazing camera!! :)))))

It's great to be back home :')

This is a rather overdue post as it's been 2 weeks since I came back! Initially the heat was honestly unbearable and I just found myself being so frustrated all the time as I was so sticky and sweaty just minutes after showering! But it's much better now because 1) I spend most of my time indoors 2) I may have gotten used to it?? Well slightly at least

I arrived at Changi Airport at 11am in the morning on the 5th of July and got picked up by Justina and Daddy!!! I really couldn't believe that I was finally back and I was just staring out the window the whole ride back home and just taking it all in :) And I also then appreciated how green Singapore was

First friend I met on the day I arrived!!! Bincs was in Bishan and she texted me if I was home and 3 hours and a nap later, there she was in my home !!! :) Love impromptu meet ups like these and especially cos I did not expect to meet friends so quickly just after I arrived ! Thank you Bincs xx

Went to Grain Traders for lunch with Justina the following day! I loved it there but the only thing I did not enjoy was the price - each bowl is $16 :( I'd recommend it but definitely not often!!

That night, my cousins and relatives all came over for dinner! Mum and Ruby cooked up amazing food as usual but the best was that we had durian for dessert which my Uncle had bought!!! I haven't had durian in forever and they were deeeeliciousss!!! I love my family so much and am really so grateful that I'm close to my cousins :') can't wait for the day we all go on holiday together w/o the parents!!

Invited Nat to the TTP gala dinner (which was the theatre company that I worked with after As) and was so nice to see her again and just chat about what's been going on the past year!

Its amazing how just after a day or two back home I feel so at home, like I've never left (ok well excluding the fact that I don't feel like I have much space at home for my things bcos the sister has taken over my space and sometimes I don't know where things are cos they've moved in the past 9 months that I was away - but it's all good in the hood). It's really true that it takes one to leave home for a long period of time to truly appreciate the one place we call home because I really can't see myself living elsewhere but Singapore in the future!!

Dublin '16 !

Day 1: We arrived at about 12pm and then checked in to Temple Bar Hotel (which was super nice and the bed was so comfy and breakfast was amazing )

After roaming the streets for a bit, we headed to Yamamori Izakaya for lunch!

We shared a soba noodle dish with grilled vegetables and a tofu steak!

The tofu steak was honestly the best tofu I've ever had!! The inside of the tofu was sweet even without all the sauce!!

We then shopped for a bit and then caught the River Dance! It was amazingggg and the lead couple was so good looking, esp the guy, he was so charming and dreamyyyyyy :))))

Day 2: The Cliffs of Moher and the Burren

We were so lucky as the weather forecast stated that it would rain the entire day and it was pouring as the coach took us to the cliffs but once we reached, the sky cleared and remained that way for the entirety of the day tour!! Blessed :')

My hat was flying off at this point as the wind was insane and it landed in a pool of mud hurray

My cute cow friends!!

This was the Burrens! Everything here is limestone and it's said to look as if you were walking on the moon and I kinda agree!

On the opposite side of where I was standing to take this shot, this limestone pavement stretched out for endless miles ahead of me and I was literally staring in awe
Nature is amazing!!!

After the Burrens, we went to visit Galway City where mum and I had vegan shepherd's pie and a organic rice noodle bowl with sweet potato and other vegetables, and then headed back to Dublin !

We had Thai for dinner! This pad thai was deeeelicious

This was a stir fried Aubergine and tofu dish

Day 3: Headed to the Guinness Factory!

Look at mum striking that pose

Part of the tour included going to the Guinness Academy where they taught us how to pour our own pint of Guinness and mum and I did !! I must say I did not dislike the taste of it as much as I imagined I would have. Also, I put my uni card in my back pocket with my phone and when I took my phone out to take a picture, my uni card fell out and a kind man picked it up for me!! THANK YOU KIND SOUL :')

We then caught our 4:55pm flight back to London

Dublin was not too bad!! My favourite day was when we went to the Cliffs of Moher because I would pick to appreciate nature over shopping/walking around the city any day!!
